Grand Tour du Luxembourg

Follow the indicactions through the GPX data. The course of the Grand Tour du Luxembourg is also signposted in the approach to any crossroads that require you to change direction. The signposting shows you the direction; if you just keep to the same road, there will not be a signpost. The Grand Tour is only signposted in one direction (counterclockwise)

 The signage consists of a 30x30cm sign with a white background and a dark green arrow indicating the direction. The logo of the Grand Tour du Luxembourg is always under the arrow. 

Please note: only the national loop is signposted, the regional loops do not have separate signage.

 

In the north of the country, the route turns for a few kilometers across the border to Ouren and Peterskirchen; there are no signs here, please turn left again at the first singposted opportunity towards the Luxembourg border.

Please keep in mind to ovserve the road regulations at all times. Local detours due to roadworks will be signposted by the local authorities, however, there are no specific detour signs for the "GT Luxembourg".

Attention: The GPX file and the routing always have priority over the on-site signage. Since long-term construction sites and large detours are not specifically signposted for the "GT du Luxembourg", following the digital route is always necessary.

A navigation device (phone, or dedicated device) is required when following the route; the existing signposting is only a support, it is not signposted in regular sections along the entire length. The signage only indicates when the direction of travel or the course of the road changes.

Parking: As configured, this tour starts and ends at the parking of the Schengen memorial in Schengen.

 

There are many alternative start and end points for the tour:

• the public parking in front of the CNA in Dudelange
• the public parking of the former church in Lasauvage
• in Mersch on the public parking space accross the street from the local administration
• In Echternach at the public parking next to the lake of Echternach
• at the parking "Larei" in Vianden
