Immerse yourself in the history of the medieval ruins and discover how the last occupant lived in the 17th century castle. In the beautiful countryside of Beaufort, you can visit not one but two castles. Not far from an idyllic little lake, an impressive medieval castle towers over the scene. It was built between 1050 and 1650. Following major repairs, the imposing ruins opened to the public as long ago as 1932 and today they are regarded as a historic monument. Just around the corner, you’ll find a residence which dates from the 17th century. The fascinating interiors bring the magic of the past to life. The 17th century residence can only be visited on a guided tour, which ends with an opportunity to taste the château’s famous Cassero liqueur (blackcurrant liqueur).

Guided visits:

The site is open every day from mid-March to mid-November. The medieval ruins can be visited without a guide. The 17th century residence can be visited with a guide at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Last admission on the castle grounds is around 5:00 p.m.
