Description
The approximately 9 km long HistoryRunde invites you to travel back in time around the village of Basbellain. The tour takes around 2.5 hours and has no major climbs. Information boards at 11 stations provide fascinating insights into the region's eventful past.
The tour starts at the car park by the church in the centre of Basbellain, one of the oldest villages in Luxembourg. If you are travelling by train, you can reach the starting point from Troisvierges station via the Cornelysmillen nature trail.
The route runs through varied open countryside, along historic wayside crosses and past scenic viewpoints. Part of the trail leads through the Cornelysmillen nature reserve. This is a wetland area with rich flora and fauna. There is also a historic mill and small wooded areas along the way, alternating with sweeping views over the plateaus of the Naturpark Our.
HistoryRunde is ideal for a relaxed excursion with added cultural value.
