Luxembourg Art Week 2026 – Rahmenprogramm

Deze inhoud is helaas niet in het Nederlands beschikbaar.

On the occasion of Luxembourg Art Week, Casino Luxembourg and Casino Display present a programme that extends the experience of contemporary art beyond the fair. A series of events begins on 18 November, leading up to the programme taking place from 20 to 22 November.

Installations, sound art, performances, discussions and guided tours invite visitors to discover distinctive artistic practices and explore the relationships between artworks, spaces and audiences.

From the Greater Region to environmental concerns, and from sound experimentation to new ways of engaging with artworks, the programme brings together artistic practices that question how we inhabit, perceive and share the world.

Roundtables: Step Across the Border – An art scene spanning the Grande Région

Wednesday, 18 November | 6–7 pm

Organised in collaboration with Casino Luxembourg and Mudam Luxembourg, this roundtable, held in English, explores the exchanges that shape the art scene across the Greater Region. It offers an opportunity to reflect on the connections between artistic scenes, their practitioners and the territories they inhabit.

Stijn Demeulenaere — Crickle Crackle Pop. (Rush Roar)

Wednesday, 18 November | 7.30 pm

In Crickle Crackle Pop. (Rush Roar), sound artist Stijn Demeulenaere explores warmth, the hearth and the notion of home through three very different collections of recordings. At the invitation of rainy days, he revisited some of his earliest and most personal recordings: the crackling fireplace in his mother’s home, radiators and the hum of the heating system — sounds evoking a house that no longer exists.

In a spatial sound performance, these recordings resonate within The Hearth Room by Christoph Meier and Ute Müller. Demeulenaere extends this sonic perspective to our shared home, the Earth, and its warming climate, incorporating his most recent recordings of melting glaciers in Iceland. Crickle Crackle Pop. (Rush Roar) invites us to listen to our changing homes, along the fault lines between comforting warmth and scorching heat.

Crickle Crackle Pop. (Rush Roar) is a commission by rainy days and Casino Luxembourg. The rainy days programme is curated by Catherine Kontz.

Luxembourg Art Week Opening Night — The Live Hearth Signal Room

Friday, 20 November | 5 pm–1 am

Casino Display and Casino Luxembourg join forces for an evening unfolding across both venues. Performances, installations, encounters and artistic experiments shape the opening, inviting visitors to move between the two spaces and discover the different propositions as the evening unfolds.

Roundtable — Art and University: Fostering Reflection and Experimentation

Saturday, 21 November | 4.30–5.30 pm

This roundtable explores the relationship between artistic practices and the university, focusing on the opportunities for research, reflection and experimentation that emerge when these two fields meet.

Guided tours: Discover the exhibitions from a different perspective

Saturday, 21 November | 5.30–6.30 pm.
The Hearth Room — guided tour in French

With The Hearth Room, Christoph Meier and Ute Müller transform the first floor of Casino Luxembourg into a space in constant evolution. At the intersection of sculpture and architecture, their installation brings the studio and exhibition space into dialogue through clay, a functional ceramic kiln and processes of making. The guided tour invites visitors to observe how artworks, materials and uses contribute to the ongoing transformation of the space.

Sunday, 22 November | 11 am–12 pm
The Hearth Room — guided tour in English

A further opportunity to discover Christoph Meier and Ute Müller’s installation and explore the relationships between artistic creation, architecture and collective life.

Sunday, 22 November | 3–4 pm
Pipes have their ways — guided tour with artist Emile Demerliac

Garden hoses, PVC pipes and ventilation ducts form the basis of Emile Demerliac’s sound installation. By repurposing these everyday industrial materials, the artist creates a collective sound-making environment in which sound becomes something to experiment with and share. Accompanied by the artist, visitors will discover the research underpinning the project, from the legacy of the traditional organ and references to opera to an exploration of the sonic possibilities of everyday objects.
