Description
The "Sentier des Passeurs" commemorates the escape routes taken by Luxembourgish resistance fighters and conscientious objectors who fled to Belgium in the final years of the Second World War.
Two circular routes start at Troisvierges railway station and trace the historic routes: The northern circular route (12 km) follows former border paths, while the southern circular route (9 km) tells the story of the resistance in the village of Sassel and passes the Auschwitz memorial in Cinqfontaines.
Information boards along the way provide insights into the events of that time and preserve the memory of these courageous deeds.
Upon request to tours@visit-eislek.lu, you can also undertake this hike with a certified guide who will provide you with all the important historical information.
