Description
Those who want to admire the Schüttburg, built in the 15th century, from a very special perspective should definitely walk the Auto-Pédestre Consthum.
The Auto-Pédestre Consthum starts in the village center, close to the cultural center. It quickly leaves the village towards the Jopich Valley. Through the forest, it goes downhill, along the stream and past the quarry.
At the westernmost end of the hike, along the Klerf River, is the Schüttbuergermillen. The hike continues towards the Schüttburg. This castle, relatively unknown at the national level, is a real insider tip! Located on a shale ledge about 60 meters high, it was built in the 14th century. The “new” Renaissance castle was created in 1576. Today, the listed building is privately owned and unfortunately cannot be visited.
The last part of the hike leads uphill back to Consthum.
