Children learn real science with their own hands, in two languages. Every experiment at Christmas Science Saturday is explained in both English and French by an instructor from Junior Einsteins Science Club.
.
Christmas Crystals and Snowballs runs on Saturday 5 December 2026 from 2:30pm to 3:20pm at The Office Charlotte, 29 Boulevard Grande-Duchesse Charlotte, L-1331 Luxembourg. It is open to children aged 5 to 11 and costs 30 euros per child, paid when booking.
The session shows what crystals are and how they form. The children meet famous ones, such as snowflakes, which have six arms and no two the same, quartz and diamonds. Then each child grows a salt crystal Christmas decoration on a pipe-cleaner shape in a jar. The instructor handles the hot water. Each child also makes a snowball from instant snow, a polymer that soaks up water. Everyone takes home the crystal jar and the snowball in a clear cup. The crystals keep growing at home for a few days, and the family can then dry the decoration and hang it on the tree.
Two other sessions run the same afternoon and are booked separately. Light Up Christmas starts at 3:30pm and Snowball Catapults starts at 4:30pm.

Parents drop off and collect their children and do not need to stay. A lab coat and safety goggles are provided. Places are limited. Questions can go to luxembourg@junioreinsteinsscienceclub.com or +352 621 888 799.
