From Nature to Art: An Exploration of Forms

On the occasion of the exhibition SHAPES – Beyond Geometry, Cercle Cité and the National Museum of Natural History Luxembourg invite the public to experience a unique tour at the crossroads of nature, science and contemporary creation.

At the heart of this tour are the stones on loan from the National Museum of Natural History and presented in the exhibition. As a meeting point between the two institutions, they provide a common thread throughout an exploration of natural forms and their many interpretations. Through them, the tour reveals how structures observed in nature inspire scientific research, mathematics and the imagination of artists.

The tour begins at the National Museum of Natural History Luxembourg, where participants will discover collections and specimens highlighting the richness and diversity of forms found in the natural world. The tour then continues at Cercle Cité with the exhibition SHAPES – Beyond Geometry, which explores how forms are perceived, analysed and reinvented by artists and scientists.

An invitation to look at our surroundings differently and discover the fascinating connections between the forms found in nature and those imagined by human beings.

The guided tour at the Musée national d’histoire naturelle Luxembourg (MNHNL) will be led by Julien Meyers, Head of Public Engagement and Development at the museum.

• The guided tour of the MNHNL will be followed by a walk to Cercle Cité, accompanied by the Cercle Cité guide.
• 18:00: Guided tour of the exhibition SHAPES – Beyond Geometry at Cercle Cité
