Description
The Biergerkräiz hiking trail leads through the fields south of Bourglinster via the Roman road to the former Grand Ducal enclosure, a former animal enclosure, where it passes through the "wild" part of the Grünewald. This large contiguous forest area is a cool oasis, especially in summer, and is of particular importance as a recreational area for the region and the city of Luxembourg. Nothing is known scientifically about the purpose and origin of the so-called Biergerkräiz, which the hiking trail passes. The only certainty is that this mysterious cross was erected in the forest a very long time ago. Through the forest, past a picturesque pavilion, you return to the starting point.
