Description
The Bertrange comfort hiking trail is an easy, family-friendly circular walk suitable for people with reduced mobility, inviting visitors to explore and unwind in the heart of nature.
This 2.5 km loop winds through a peaceful forest and, despite its central location, offers a relaxing setting. Benches and other seating along the route invite walkers to take a break at their own pace.
Located within the Natura 2000 protected area “Bertrange – Greivelserhaff / Bouferterhaff”, the trail offers an opportunity to discover a valuable natural environment featuring species-rich meadows and native woodland habitats. The area helps protect species such as the great crested newt and the large copper butterfly.
A spacious car park is available at the starting point. Nearby Leudelange railway station also makes it possible to arrive by train. A safe connecting path leads from the station to the trail’s starting point.
As this connecting path has a slight incline in places, wheelchair users are advised to have someone accompany them on this section.
For your safety
The condition of the path can be affected by weather conditions (e.g., after heavy rainfalls).
A companion is recommended for wheelchair users.
Equipment
The path is sufficiently wide and generally easy to walk along or navigate with a wheelchair. One 10-metre section has a 12% gradient, so wheelchair users are advised to be accompanied where possible.
The trail is well suited to families, older visitors and people with reduced mobility.
