Mudam turns 20!

Mudam opens its doors with free entry from 1 to 5 July 2026.


Join a festive week of encounters, performances, music and family activities across the museum.

Highlights include late openings, a live music night on Friday, Kids Day on Saturday and Open Day on Sunday.

With the Young Reporters project, secondary school students and journalist Anne Schaaf explore 20 years of the museum’s history through interviews to visitors, neighbors, friends and colleagues who experienced Mudam’s evolution over the two decades.

A special anniversary selection and the new Mudam Guide (featuring 100 key collection works from the 1990s to today) will be available at the Mudam Store.

Roundtables is a programme created by Mudam Luxembourg and Casino – Forum d'art contemporain, designed to be a friendly space for discussing contemporary art. Our shared objective is to demystify contemporary art, encourage dialogue and foster an environment conducive to genuine interaction.

At Casino Luxembourg – Forum d'art contemporain

Building on the evolving notion of the collective – recently reactivated in major exhibitions such as Documenta – this session brings together members of artistic collectives in Luxembourg. It explores why artists choose to work collectively, what this mode of practice enables and how it contributes to the creation of new spaces. .

For this special day-long celebration, Mudam opens its doors to a continuous programme of encounters, music and live events. From midday introductions and artist talks to evening concerts, DJ sets and audiovisual works, the museum becomes a shared space for engaging with art, sound and performance.

Join us for an informal midday programme featuring a 30-minute introduction to the work of Igshaan Adams, followed by a lunch at Chiche!

Marco Godinho explores migration as a condition of permanence and uncertainty. Drawing on his ongoing Forever Immigrant project, the work translates a stamped motif into a live tattoo action.

From hands-on activities and drop-in formats to tours led by children and performances imagining the museum of the future, the programme invites everyone to explore art through making, storytelling and shared imagination.

Visitors are drawn in real time, each encounter becoming a playful, hand-made portrait to take home.

Drop-in! Riso Birthday Collage with Jessica Frascht

A hands-on risograph workshop inviting visitors to design a birthday card for Mudam’s 20th anniversary by cutting and layering printed elements inspired by the museum.
