Luxembourg is extremely child-friendly and nothing is spared to ensure that kids have a good time while visiting. In every corner of the country you’ll find a large number of places and activities devoted to making them happy. No matter what the weather is like, there are a variety of ideas to ensure that young people of all ages have something fun to do and that the whole family can enjoy the outings.
You’ll quickly discover that the Grand Duchy has an impressive amount of playgrounds and recreational areas – both outdoors and indoors – and quiet a lot of adventure and climbing parks. Those who want to combine playtime and rides with a zoo visit should head off to the Parc Merveilleux in Bettembourg without further ado. The Gaalgebierg Animal Park, just next to the large playgrounds and the beautiful municipal park in Esch-sur-Alzette, is also definitely worth a visit.
Explorers of all ages will have the time of their life discovering the old mines in the south of the Luxembourg or down in the capital’s underground Casemates. Those who prefer to reach for the sky will be thrilled to try out the Vianden chairlift, which can be perfectly paired with a visit to Vianden Castle. It’s one of the many castles you can visit in Luxembourg and which offers special events or activities for children – as do the majority of the museums.
Other fun and interactive activities await kids and their families in the Vitarium in Roost, a magical world dedicated to discovering all there is to know about milk and dairy products. And to travel back in time, you can take a trip to the "A Robbesscheier" Tourist Centre and find out "for real" what life was like in the old days.
