Description
The 74 km long route starts in Scheidgen and passes by numerous highlights of the region.
Initially, it goes through a forest section over a country road towards Echternach. Luxembourg's oldest city invites you to a city tour. After a short flat section along the Sauer, the route climbs up impressive rock formations to the village of Berdorf. Other well-known rock formations such as "Priedegtstull" accompany another ascent to the next plateau towards Beaufort. There, a detour to the medieval castle, which is only about 800 m from the route, is worthwhile. As a souvenir, the regionally produced blackcurrant liqueur "Cassero" made in the castle is recommended! The route continues on little-trafficked side roads to Reisdorf. Through the valley of the White Ernz, the route leads to Medernach. Over Heffingen, Christnach, and Consdorf, it goes back to the starting point.
