Urban Art by Lisa Junius - Parc de l’Alzette

The mural in Ettelbruck is painted in typical shades of white and blue, depicting mermaids swimming through a pattern of spirals and stars. Positioned near the river, the artwork incorporates elements connected to water in a mystical way.

Recurring female figures are transformed into mermaids, also referencing the folkloric tale of Mélusine. The spirals evoke the shape of waves and, as one of the oldest symbols in human history, represent energy and life itself. The vases painted on all the columns are also connected to water, serving as containers or vessels and symbolically associated with women.
