Still Life in Practice

..This guided tour and workshop explore the role of food in art through the tradition of still life painting. Using selected works from the collections of Villa Vauban, participants examine how artists used food and everyday objects to reflect ideas about society, culture, beauty, wealth, and human experience. Through discussion and participatory exercises, the session connects historical still lifes with contemporary themes such as sustainability, consumption, and the meaning of food today.

Magali Medinger – Change facilitator, artist, and project lead based in Luxembourg. Experience in participatory, interdisciplinary projects, using creative practices for community building. Anne-Sophie Hoffmann – Berlin-based vegan chef, recipe developer, and culinary lead, exploring the creative and symbolic potential of food.
