EN Following their acclaimed performances of Peaky Blinders: the Redemption of Thomas Shelby at the Grand Théâtre, Rambert return with a new large-scale creation, inspired by British TV drama It’s a Sin. Developed with Russell T Davies and choreographed by Benoit Swan Pouffer, the production engages the series’ emotional landscape. Set in the early years of the AIDS crisis, it examines how bodies, desire and community are reshaped by fear, solidarity, and institutional neglect. Sixteen dancers share the stage, dancing on a musical landscape by composer and music supervisor Roman GianArthur with the support of executive producers Pet Shop Boys to evoke the glamour, defiance and emotional intensity of 1980s queer life. As in Rambert’s previous adaptation, popular source material becomes a lens for contemporary dance, the focus is both intimate and political: how joy persists under pressure, and how a generation’s experience still resonates today.

Die eindrucksvolle Produktion mit 16 TänzerInnen erzählt vom Leben einer Gruppe junger Menschen im London der 1980er-Jahre. In der pulsierenden Queer-Szene finden sie Freundschaft und Freiheit – bis die aufkommende AIDS-Krise ihre Welt erschüttert. Mit großer Emotionalität verhandelt das Tanzstück Themen wie Liebe, soziale Isolation, Verlust und Widerstandskraft.
