“Through this succession of silent images, I search the landscape for what I miss here. ‘Here’ is my birthplace, the place where my mother raised me, where I grew up. For the past few years, I’ve been trying to leave; I can’t find what I want here, I’ve lost what connected me to it. Today, I find myself in this new city, my new home, as if it had always been home, more so than here.
“Using Super 8 – for the first time – I let myself be guided. The camera becomes an extension of my arm, my eyes, automatic. I scan the landscape, searching for what I love so much there, while also finding what I miss here. Between separation and reunion, the loop allows me to explore the connection between Luxembourg and Marseille, since my departure for the latter.”
