Mudam’s Summer Project begins with a music workshop. During this two-hour listening session, Cally Kerschen (Radio 100,7) and Yves Stephany will play key recordings from the 1980s, exploring six themes: the music studio as a machine, Cold War anxiety, gender and androgyny in pop, consumerism and yuppie culture, punk and hip hop as counterculture and the roots of house and techno music. Each section is followed by an open discussion, during which the audience is invited to add their own songs to the playlist as the session unfolds.
Rather than treating the decade as a fixed archive, the listening session approaches these recordings as living material. How are these songs reshaped today through different production choices, new arrangements or vocals?
The listening session takes place outdoors, in the shade, with the bar open throughout.
Join us at the beginning or drop in whenever it suits you!
The whole workshop material can be accessed on radio 100,7’s website.
