L’élégance venue du Nord

Saxophonist Adia Vanheerentals teams up with guitarist Willem Malfliet and drummer Anke Verslype in Bodem, one of Belgium’s most exciting emerging jazz trios. First noticed with Kleine Mars (2023), the band blends Scandinavian atmospheres with the vibrant energy of Chicago jazz. Their second album, Lush and Alive (2025), released on MOKUHI Sonorities, confirms a unique musical identity built on colourful textures, summer-like warmth and concise yet inventive compositions.
