Dragon sculpture on Place Saint Michel (B)

Vëlosummer 2026 - Alles op de Vëlo (B)

The Dragon of Mersch is a striking bronze sculpture located on Place Saint-Michel. Created in 1997 by the artist Paul Eyschen, it was designed as a fountain. Its three basins symbolize three different rivers. The square is of historical significance and is characterized by the tower of the old parish church, which is dedicated to the Archangel Saint Michael. As a dragon slayer, he gives the sculpture a particular symbolic meaning.
