Luxembourg City off the beaten track
Guided dayhike in Luxembourg-city of 12 km for advanced hikers. Start and finish are at the youth hostel in Luxembourg-City. Dinner is served after the hike
This year, the Carlo Hemmer hiking tour has been given a new look. Instead of being split into several stages, the tour now takes us right through the heart of our capital in a single day, revealing hidden aspects of the city.
Spanning around 12 km, we will discover hidden corners and special places, from the Muerbelsmillen to the Passerelle des Arts and on to the Dräi Eechelen terrace, which boasts a unique view. A particular highlight is the roughly 200-metre section that takes us through casemates which are usually closed to the public, offering us a rare insight into Luxembourg’s underground fortification history. The route then leads us to the Quirinus Chapel and other spots off the beaten track.
Whether you’re a history buff or an explorer, this hike will reveal a side of Luxembourg City that you have never seen before.
To round off the day, participants can look forward to a delicious dinner at the youth hostel in Pfaffenthal. Those wishing to explore the city’s main tourist attractions the following day should consider staying at the youth hostel.
