“Protect What Matters” Creative Workshop

Join Europe Direct North for an art workshop on Wednesday 23rd September at the Europe Direct Nord Information Centre in Ettelbruck.

From 6 - 9 pm, we will work with artist José Luis Palomino (@pal0minoart) to explore how the European Union protects its citizens, values, and future in the face of today’s key challenges, including democracy, security, resilience, climate change, disinformation, digital transformation, and social cohesion.

Through artistic creation and discussion participants will be enabled to interpret the concept of “protecting Europe” through illustrations and graffiti art.. We will build individual panels to make piece of portable wall art that can be displayed in different places.

The event will encourage critical thinking anddialogue around the EU’s role in safeguarding peace, democracy, freedoms, sustainability, and solidarity, while fostering a stronger sense of European identity and active citizenship among young people.

The outputs of the workshops will be showcased in a public exhibition to stimulate intergenerational dialogue and citizen engagement around European values and the European Union’s concrete actions to protect its citizens and future.
