Ruin Echoes brings together European and international artists around the theme of the ruin, viewed not as a nostalgic relic but as a space for critical exploration. The exhibition approaches the ruin as a site of tension — material, symbolic and political — and examines entropy, that inevitable process of disorder affecting structures, regimes and memories. Through various media (film, sculpture, installation, photography), the artists adopt an analytical approach to the fragmentary, attentive to traces and absences. Ruin Echoes invites us to view ruins not as endings, but as possible beginnings, bearing new narratives and visions of the future.

Graue Strömung (Hydro) explores the hidden Alzette in Esch-sur-Alzette and the relationships between the city, water and urbanisation. The covering over and channelling of watercourses is a widespread phenomenon in urban development, making way for transport, developments and infrastructure. Taking the Alzette as its starting point, the exhibition examines how these interventions fit into the physical and spatial structure of the city. Soil, iron, concrete and water become the main players in a negotiated topography.
