Growing with Art: Places, Artists, Experiences
Growing with Art: Places, Artists, Experiences
How can we create meaningful encounters with art from early childhood to adolescence?
As part of its conference programme and its anniversary programme FORA, Casino Luxembourg invites Patrice Chazottes to share his experience and reflections on the encounter between young audiences and contemporary art.
From the Atelier des enfants to the Studio 13/16 at the Centre Pompidou, from audience engagement at the Musée du quai Branly to Mille formes in Clermont-Ferrand, Patrice Chazottes explores the conditions that enable people of all ages to encounter art, from early childhood through adolescence.
What role do spaces, artists and mediation programmes play in this encounter? How can we imagine places where 0–18-year-olds can look, experiment, create and take part? And how can young people be given a meaningful place in artistic and cultural projects?
Drawing on his professional experience and the different projects he has developed and supported, Patrice Chazottes invites us to think of art as a sensitive, participatory and shared experience, attentive to the specificities of each age.
The conference echoes the projects Bébé Trek and Pipes have their ways., currently presented at Casino Luxembourg, as well as the collaboration between Casino Luxembourg and Mille formes., a contemporary art centre dedicated to early childhood. It is also part of FORA, Casino Luxembourg's 30th-anniversary programme, which places audiences and encounters at the heart of its programming.
