Experience the magic of moving images at the “A Possen” museum!
On October 24th, children and adults alike (children must be accompanied by an adult) are invited to dive into the poetry of magic lanterns.
.
Guided by our mediator, you will create your own magic lantern, an old device that, long before the invention of cinema, allowed painted images to be projected in order to tell stories.
For this workshop, we draw inspiration from the verse story by the Luxembourgish writer Auguste Liesch: the tale of “Maus Ketti,” a little field mouse living in Burmerange, a charming Moselle village. Participants will be able to illustrate different scenes from the story on paper before projecting them using the magic lantern they created themselves. The experience will be complemented by the traditional snack, including a drink and a treat!
This workshop is the perfect opportunity to understand how the first optical devices worked, explore the imagination of storytellers of the past, and create your own stories to share!
