At the Echter’Classic Festival, saxophonist Andreas Mader presents his current project “IN MOTION” while also celebrating the release of the CD of the same name.
Together with twelve musicians, Mader unfolds an extraordinary concert experience that weaves together music, movement, and visual elements. At its core is a chamber‑musical dialogue in which solo passages alternate, and the saxophone continually takes on new roles.

The program revolves thematically around movement: from the rhythmic gestures of flamenco in Manuel de Falla’s Amor Brujo, to the pulsating energy of tango in Astor Piazzolla, and the floating structures of Caroline Shaw’s Its Motion Keeps. A special highlight is Mader’s own composition Alter Ego, which interlaces music and video performance by juxtaposing the musicians with visual “shadow alter egos.”
IN MOTION is a multifaceted concert format that reimagines classical music through a contemporary lens and opens new, sensorial points of access.
