Vëlosummer 2021

Discover the most beautiful corners of Luxembourg by bicycle this summer!

The second edition of “Vëlosummer” will take place from Saturday 31 July to Sunday 29 August 2021.

Launched by the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works and the General Directorate for Tourism, Vëlosummer was a great success last year with more than 40,000 cyclists taking advantage of the extended cycle paths.

This year, in close collaboration with 65 municipalities, the regional tourist offices (RTOs) and the National Roads Administration, twelve scenic bike tours have been selected and can be discovered as part of Vëlosummer 2021.

Receive further information on the respective tours by clicking on the bars in the timeline:

Please note:

  • The routes of the Vëlosummer are signposted as such.
  • The Highway Code also applies to roads closed to vehicular through traffic. We remind you to keep on the right hand side of the road and to observe road signs and traffic lights.
  • Bicycles should be placed in the designated storage sections of trains and regional buses. Use of public transport is free.

Collect stickers & win

To support local businesses during Vëlosummer 2021, the five regional tourism associations are jointly organising a prize draw. Along the Vëlosummer routes, cyclists can collect stickers and win great prizes. When stopping at one of the participating establishments to buy items, a drink or something to eat, or to pay for an admission, you receive a sticker. These can be stuck on the practical postcard format collection card (available in the participating businesses). Once you’ve collected five stickers, you can enter the competition by sending in the card.
