The Serpent's Skin
.
Australie 2025 | Alice Maio Mackay | vo | 83' | digital | Cast : Alexandra McVicker, Avalon Fast, Jordan Dulieu
Serpent’s Skin gives us what we all need in our troubled times: a movie about trans witches, vampires and. demon tattoos that references Buffy, The Craft and David Lynch in equal measure! Made by a 20-something filmmaker whiz who already directed six indie, no-budget features, Serpent’s Skin is both cathartic horror and the ultimate queer hangout film. In what other movie do witches with psychic powers burn TERF propaganda flyers?
« Emotionally honest and algebraically stylish, Maio Mackay is a filmmaker the entire industry should watch in the coming years. But her latest purple-hued feature demands the attention of hot, tattoo-having, “Buffy”-loving, “Charmed”-binging, queer horror fans right now. » (IndieWire)
