Katharina Gierlach (*1983, Würzburg) lives and works in Cologne

After numerous exhibitions in Germany, the Czech Republic and the USA, I believe in surface. marks the artist's first solo show in Luxembourg.

Katharina Gierlach is presenting her landscape paintings, which, due to the impasto technique, almost appear as reliefs. Since her studies, the artist has been exploring the work of Claude Monet and Egon Schiele, gradually developing her own powerful and dynamic style. Through her vibrant colourful palette and the rhythmic recurrence of motifs, the artist established her very distinctive aesthetic.
