Description
Boots on and eyes open on this exciting educational route!
At first, the walk seems quite ordinary: trees, beautiful landscapes, and cheerful birdsong accompany you on your hike. However, if you go a little deeper into this inviting nature reserve and keep your eyes wide open, you may encounter some rare species. The forest area mainly consists of beeches; along small streams and ponds, you reach the Léiffrae pond. Perhaps you will even see the grey woodpecker, black woodpecker, or middle spotted woodpecker? And at dusk, if you look into the treetops or the sky, you might be lucky enough to spot a fringed bat or a Bechstein's bat.
Child-friendly signs provide information about the inhabitants and ecological processes in the natural forest. A brochure about the path with a forest quiz for children is available from the Bettembourg municipality or the forestry administration.
