The trail consists of two parts that can be hiked independently of each other: The northern loop with a length of 2 km leads through the town of Schengen and the winegrowing area of Markusberg. The southern loop is 3.2 km long from its starting point and leads upward in part to spectacular routes that go through the protected nature area of “Strombierg“. 23 informational display tables explain various aspects of nature conservation, the one-time gipsum mining industry here as well as the unique aspects of the landscape, geology and cultural history here.
