Description
Explore the region around Luxembourg City.
Explore the region around Luxembourg City on the weekends of August 17-18 and August 24-25. A diverse route that takes you through the capital on one hand and small rural villages on the other. Whether it’s the Panoramic Lift, the “Funiculaire” (funicular railway) in the Pfaffenthal or wide fields and impressive views: this tour of the Syre and Alzette valleys leaves nothing to be desired.
Highlights of the route: A diverse route where urban and rural spaces alternate. The highlight is certainly the trip by Panoramic Lift from Luxembourg City to Pfaffenthal and then the “Funiculaire” (funicular railway) back up to Kirchberg.

Directions
Start the tour at the “Funiculaire” (funicular railway) if you are travelling by train or at the car park next to the water tower in Senningerberg if you are travelling by car. The Senningerberg car park is also easily accessible by public transport (various bus lines). We recommend cycling this circular path clockwise.
If you are travelling by train : Starting from the “Funiculaire”, you will first cross the modern Kirchberg district where many restaurants are located such as for example the outdoor restaurant Kyosk. After a ride through the forest, you will arrive in the Syre valley, where, right next to the car park in Senningerberg, you can find the “Porta Vecchia” pizzeria with terrace. From here, head towards Hostert via Niederanven to Syren, before passing through Fentange and Itzig to Luxembourg City. Back in Luxembourg-City, taking the Panoramic Lift ride and the “Funiculaire” (funicular railway) are a good option.
