Description
The tour is accessible from 19 July to 24 August and takes you up the old “Jangelisbunn” from Remich to Mondorf, then down the “Neelchesbirenallee” to the Maus Kätti statue in Burmerange. The route offers a magnificent view over the Moselle Valley.
From the starting point in Remich, cycle past Bolzplatz via Avenue Lamort-Velter to Rue de la Gare, past the parish church in the direction of “Jangelisbunn”, up through the forest (cycle path PC11 – an asphalt path) to Ellange-Gare; the path was part of the narrow-gauge railway line between Luxembourg City and Remich from 1882 to 1955. Behind the “Triangle Vert” business park you have a wonderful view of the spa town of Bad Mondorf. The Thermal Baths, the Aviation Museum and an Easy Golf course in the Thermal Park are just a few highlights. Continue through the “Neelchesbirenallee”, past the Maus Kätti statue in Bürmeringen, and soon you will come to the magnificent view over the Moselle Valley with the Biodiversum Camille Gira Nature Conservation Centre and the associated reserve “Haff Réimech”. Opposite is the “Baggerweier” bathing and recreation area, which attracts swimmers every year. Through the vineyards and charming little villages, passing the Valentiny Foundation – a must for art lovers – you return to the Moselle and cycle back to the starting point in Remich.
This tour is only signposted in the direction described above (anticlockwise).
