Escape Theatre – The Final Act
Escape Theatre – The Final Act
In the final weeks of Theatre of Cruelty, our art mediators invite you to a special afterWORKshop in the style of an escape game.
This is not a standard guided tour, a mere game, or a traditional theatre experience.
.
You will be entering an exhibition that doesn’t explain everything right away. Moving forward depends on engaging with Antonin Artaud’s idea of theatre and cruelty, not as violence, but as something necessary, intense, and unavoidable. For Artaud, theatre is about the body and the senses, not so much about the intellect. Discussion and logic alone are not enough to progress. Participation requires attention and physical – and mental – awareness.
In a group of up to 8 people, we will work through Artaud’s riddles.
.
A complimentary/celebratory drink will be served afterwards.
