In this creative workshop combining different techniques, participants can give free rein to their imagination and intuition to create a ‘precious stone’ using tufting and textile collage on canvas.

This is an opportunity to learn the basics of tufting and to develop a creative composition on canvas. Mood boards will be available for inspiration, but each participant is free to create their own idea of a mini ‘gemstone’ rug. No special skills are required – just a desire to play with colours and textures and enjoy a rich tactile experience!

Biography:

Julie Costentin (born in 1991 in Luxembourg) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Barcelona. Her work combines painting and tufting to create hybrid pieces that explore colour, texture and emotion.Inspired by her background in illustration and her multicultural experience gained in Luxembourg, Brussels, and Madrid, she creates immersive and playful compositions that blend figurative and abstract elements. Her practice includes framed tufted rugs, mixed-media paintings and contemporary tufted objects such as cushions and mirrors, where symbolic motifs and bold colour palettes come together to create tactile and joyful experiences.
