Bruckner 7

«How can the dead be truly dead when they live in the souls of those left behind?». A fan of composer Richard Wagner, Anton Bruckner learnt of his hero’s passing whilst he was writing Symphony N° 7.. No wonder the work features such achingly beautiful melodies as well as the addition of four «Wagner tubas» by way of tribute! Also influenced by tales of death was Leoš Janáček, whose Taras Bulba depicts the brutality of war between the Cossacks and the Poles. Settle down for an evening of intense symphonic storytelling!
