Hiraeth means a deep longing for home or a place that is lost. This programme, performed by young Austrian cellist, Valerie Fritz, will envelop you in feelings of nostalgia and yearning as you lose all sense of time and space. Old meets new, as 20th century works are reimagined, and female composers come to the forefront. You will come away from this concert with a renewed appreciation for the cello which, according to cellist Zuill Bailey, is «the most perfect instrument aside from the human voice».  ..
