Prologue – A Symposium Reflecting on Processes, Methods, and Hospitality

To celebrate its 5th anniversary, the Casino Display presents Prologue – A Symposium Reflecting on Processes, Methods, and Hospitality, taking place from 24 to 28 February 2026 at the Casino Luxembourg – Forum d’art contemporain, at Casino Display, and in partner institutions across Luxembourg.

Conceived as a moment of gathering to reflect on the role of a residency and research space such as Casino Display and to explore possible future directions, this symposium – open to all audiences – puts into practice the very concept of FORA throughout 2026: offering a space where research is collectively constructed, where methods are made visible as much as they are experimented with, and where new ways of inhabiting, thinking, and sharing artistic practice can unfold.

PROGRAMME.
Over five days, meetings, presentations, performances, and discussions will focus on artistic research and diverse creative processes.

Tue 24.02
The symposium opens with Sam Krack and Kevin Barois’ open studio at DIALOGUE (Wiltz).

Wed 25.02
This day will be dedicated to exchanges on collaborations between art and academia, featuring the roundtable In-University Residency with Sam Erpelding, Max Kreis, Marija Marić, César Reyes Najera, and Sabine Schmitz, as well as the presentation of the TASTE platform launched by the University of Luxembourg, with Justine Blau, Agnès Meyer-Brandis, and Bruno Teheux.

26-28.02
Participants in the European Post-Master’s programme – Mona Young-eun Kim, Matilde Gazeau Frade, Inès Hosni, Seunghyun Park, and jae Park – will present the current state of their research as part of the Emerging Trajectories series.

26 + 27.02.
Two roundtables dedicated to residency processes will bring together Ellen de Haan (Het Resort), Camille Richard (Est-Nord-Est), Giulia Bellinetti (Jan van Eyck Academie), and Marie de Gaulejac (3bisf). A concert by KMRU will conclude the day on 26 February.

Fri 27.02
This day will be marked by the Casino Display Opening Night, featuring activations of the formats Risodence with Milo Hatfield, mentored by Ellen de Haan, and périscope by Rari Matei, mentored by Stephen Korytko, as well as the open studio of Céleste Thouin and the welcoming of new resident Zohra Mrad, in collaboration with Catherine Guesde. The evening will continue with an after-vernissage at the Buvette des Rotondes, including a DJ set by His Fable, curated by Zohra Mrad.

Sat 28.02
A closing exhibition will bring together projects developed within the Master’s Forum and the Post-Master’s Lab, as well as works by Casino Display residents. The day will feature the workshop PIASTRE DE COMMERCE by jae Park, a reading group led by Adele Dipasquale, the performance Yolopamine by Emma Dupré, and two lectures by Jeff Diamanti and Patricia Couvet.

The symposium will conclude with a festive evening: a carte blanche entrusted to the experimental label galR.
