For two decades, the Pablo Held Trio, featuring bassist Robert Landfermann and drummer Jonas Burgwinkel, has been making its mark on the European jazz scene. The trio is known for its intuitive interplay and fearless enthusiasm. Its concerts are full of surprises, always at the crossroads of composition and improvisation. Audiences, trade press and jazz greats alike are equally fascinated. Ralph Towner sees them as “an innovative example of the evolution of the piano trio in jazz”, while John Scofield calls them “one of the great bands of our time”.
In 2026, the trio will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a series of tours featuring special guests such as Chris Potter and Alexandra Ridout.

For more than three decades, he has been a distinctive and outstanding creative voice at the forefront of modern music. His legacy as the preeminent jazz guitarist of his generation is clearly evident in his 15 albums as a bandleader, each of which has been an inspiration to countless musicians young and old around the world.

Back to the beginnings: in the Standards Trio with Arthur Possing on piano, Pit Dahm on drums and Pol Belardi on double bass, the focus is on the great composers of jazz history. Returning to their early sources of inspiration, the band presents a selection of their favorite pieces from the pens of such great masters as Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, Duke Ellington, Horace Silver and Herbie Hancock. The trio is rich in spontaneity and witty interplay, creating their own refreshing versions of the works without losing touch with tradition.
