Natura 2000 day
Natura 2000 day
Join us on a guided tour through the nature reserve “Schlammwiss-Syrdall”, with its bird ringing station, in Uebersyren to celebrate Natura 2000, a network of protected areas covering Europe's most valuable and threatened species and habitats. Natura 2000 is the largest coordinated network of protected areas in the world, extending across all EU Member States, both on land and at sea. “Schlammwiss-Syrdall” is located within such a Natura 2000 protected area, of the utmost importance for nesting and migrating birds that depend upon its water-dominated habitats for survival. You may even have the opportunity to have a closer look at some birds in the ringing cabin. Bring sturdy footwear and warm clothing. And bring a friend too! In case of rainfall, the tour will have to be cancelled. Registration is necessary via email to schlammwiss@gmail.com.
