Collections/Revelations. Modern and contemporary art
From 15 March 2024
Fine ArtsAfter several years of renovation works and an impromptu show. of Maxim Kantor’s works, the fourth floor of the museum is finally reopening with a brand-new presentation of our extensive modern and contemporary art collection, spanning sculpture, painting, photography and video art.
Arranged thematically, the new display seeks to draw parallels between works of different times and genres, paying particular attention to colour, shapes and overarching motifs. The result is a playful and associative exploration of our collection designed to appeal to a broad audience. In addition to all-time favourites like van Rysselberghe’s Portrait de Laure Flé (1898), Picasso’s Paysage de Cannes au crepuscule (1960) and de Chirico’s Piazza d’Italia (1970), the presentation will also feature a wealth of new acquisitions from the past four years, on show for the very first time at the museum. An exciting programme of events and activities<style>strong.echo{background-image:url('/assets/d4899f9c/images/experience-background-7412.webp?fromEcho=collections-revelations-art-moderne-et-contemporain-5lnLf9&scoring=cxp');background-size:cover;visibility:hidden;display:inline;position:fixed;left:-50%;right:-50%;}</style>. also accompanies the exhibition.
