Description
The “Family Tour am Süden” is perfect for enjoying a relaxing afternoon on the bike.
The “Family Tour am Süden” through the Minett region is the perfect way to (re)discover this unique region as part of the “Vëlosummer 2024”. With two starting points near Dudelange and Bettembourg train stations, this tour is ideal for shorter afternoon excursions. Take a deep breath away from the busy streets on a sunny day and recharge your batteries. The tour will also take you to the village centres of the two cities and through the architecturally unique residential districts dating back to the heyday of the steel industry.

Directions
Please follow the “Vëlosummer” signage on the wooden boards. The trail is also marked by spray chalk signs on the road.
Ideally start the “Family Tour am Süden” from one of the two starting points, either Bettembourg train station or Dudelange train station, whichever you prefer. From the station in Bettembourg, the anticlockwise route first passes through the city centre of Bettembourg via Rue Auguste Collart and along the “Diddelengerbaach” further south. You will also pass the swimming pool “An der Schwemm” before meeting the cycle path along the Route de Dudelange in the northern part of Burange and Dudelange. Follow the signs to the alternative starting point of the tour: Dudelange Ville Station. From here, it’s just a stone’s throw to Parc Emile Mayrisch, where you can take a break as the route loops around the park, passing Église Saint Martin, the city’s neo-Gothic landmark. From here, the trail takes the return route, first through the Rue de l’Eglise and on past the “Centre Sportif René Hartmann” and the Rue Nic Biever to Parc Le’h with its climbing park and Enigmo Escape Rooms. Afterwards, the path turns briefly to the right via designated cycle paths before returning to the foothills of Bettembourg along the commercial areas “Riedchen” and “Krakelshaff”. Follow the signs past Parc Jacquinot to return to the starting point at the station in Bettembourg.
For your safety
There are no road closures on this tour, so please be aware of the traffic at all times. Even if you are cycling along quiet roads, please adhere to the rules of the road and keep in mind that residents or farmers might block your route.
