Kabaisercher: Parc Merveilleux "Renert"

Where? Route de Mondorf, L-3260 Bettembourg
A night in a fairytale castle? No problem with the "Kabaischen" of the Parc Merveilleux in Bettembourg

You've made it to your destination: Here in front of the entrance to the "Parc Merveilleux" animal park in Bettembourg, the regional hiking trail "Minett Trail" not only has a start and end point, the entrance is also the perfect station for an unusual overnight stay. Because here in the entrance area in the form of a small castle gate, a very unusual "Kabaischen" of the trail was created. Ideal for families, but also guests without small children will be able to spend a wonderful night here.

The entrance is embellished with a sculpture designed like a gate and a walkway of iron ore spiked rock, showing the closeness to the region's ore processing past. The entire outdoor area made of wood was designed together with an artist and is intended to reflect the interior of the gîte - also primarily made of wood.

The choice of materials also underlines the project's claim to use sustainable materials; At the same time, it also symbolizes the special location of the "Kabaischen" and its surroundings - the zoo and its entrance are right in the middle of a large forest area.

The interior of the fairytale castle is kept simple and practical, storage space for suitcases can be found below the four beds for instance. An aviary opens the "Kabaischen" to the park and enables an even closer connection to the animals in the park.

The tower can also be climbed, a great experience for adventurous children; Visitors can explore the tower's four floors, either in the normal way or via climbing rungs.

The project was realized by the architecture offices of COEBA, artworks by Jhemp Bastin.
