The Bat Tunnel on the Vennbahn

Learn all about Luxembourg's longest railway tunnel and its bats on the adventure trail near Huldange!

During the construction of the Vennbahn cycle path along the former railway line from Aachen in Germany to Troisvierges in Luxembourg, bats were discovered in the tunnel near Huldange. Since the railway closed, numerous species of bat have settled there, including some that were previously unknown in Luxembourg. For this reason, the area around the tunnel has been designated a protected area and a diversion has been set up to protect the animals.
