Schifflange

Two nature reserves in the immediate vicinity

The municipality of Schifflange is surrounded to the north by the Alzette plain and to the south by richly wooded hills containing iron ore. It is a place of resistance and the starting point of the general strike of 1942. Hiking trails lead through the former ore areas. Good sports infrastructure, two nature reserves and art galleries await their visitors. In the south there is the Brucherbierg-Lalléngerbierg nature reserve, in the north in the Alzette plain is the Dumontshaff nature and bird sanctuary
