Larochette lies in the valley of the White Ernz, surrounded by wooded slopes and rock formations. Its landmark is the impressive castle ruin towering above the historic town centre.
Larochette lies in the valley of the White Ernz and is surrounded by wooded slopes and the sandstone rocks typical of the Mullerthal Region. Larochette Castle rises prominently above the town centre on a rocky spur of Luxembourg sandstone. The castle can be visited and offers beautiful views over the town and the valley of the White Ernz.
The town centre, with the “Bleech”, historic buildings and old streets, invites visitors to explore. Restaurants, cafés and shops can be found here. One of the historic buildings is the Manoir de Roebé, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries and today housing the municipal administration. Larochette also has a youth hostel.
Numerous hiking trails around Larochette lead through forests and rocky landscapes and to various viewpoints. Verluerekascht, Himmelsbierg and Salzdeebelchen offer particularly beautiful views of the town and its castle.
The Local Hiking Trails L1 to L5 offer routes of varying lengths and lead to different natural and cultural sights around Larochette. L1 and L5 lead to the castle, L2 and L3 towards Meysembourg, while L4 passes through the impressive rock formations of the Noumerleeën.
