"Grafelt" nature reserve
Where? L-8209 Mamer
The "Grafelt" nature reserve provides a new habitat for rare amphibian species.
Over the decades, land development has led to the disappearance of many ponds, hedges and field margins.
Two ponds have been created in the Grafelt nature reserve. Without these measures, the survival of amphibians would be threatened, particularly that of the crested newt, one of the most vulnerable species. The development, preservation and maintenance of a coherent network of wetlands will help to ensure their survival.
