27th September 2025 World Tourism Day

Tourism and Sustainable Transformation

World Tourism Day

World Tourism Day is celebrated every year on September 27. It was established in 1979 by the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization to raise awareness of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, economic, and environmental impact worldwide.

This year’s international theme, “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation”, perfectly reflects the values of Luxembourg’s tourism sector, where sustainability and the principles of slow tourism take center stage.

To celebrate this special day in Luxembourg, a variety of unique activities and guided tours have been organized. The focus will be on our natural heritage, protected areas, biotopes, native plants and animals, local herbs, and traditional customs.

Join us and experience how sustainable tourism comes to life – sign up today!
