Wine Meets Art
Wine Meets Art
For over twenty-five years, the Domaine Claude Bentz, a family-owned winery now managed by Carole Bentz in its fourth generation, has combined art and winemaking through Wine Meets Art, an exhibition that regularly hosts artists on the estate.
.
This edition is themed around heritage and transmission. It brings together three female artists whose practices explore the memory of materials, the continuity of gestures, and the transformation of the living.
The works of Marie De Decker, Megha Goenka, and Pascale Seil engage in a dialogue with the history and architecture of the Domaine Claude Bentz.. Through recycled glass, gold, organic forms, and hand-crafted materials, the exhibition highlights a unique encounter between four women—coming from the worlds of viticulture and art—a historically rich location, and a shared goal: to root creation in time while giving a contemporary resonance to heritage.
Marie De Decker
At the crossroads of contemporary art and fine craftsmanship, Marie De Decker develops a practice nourished by the natural world and human narratives. Her works explore transformation, memory, and transmission. Drawings, evolving sculptures, objects, and installations create an organic universe where forms evoke the rhythms of life. They weave connections between material and memory, giving rise to a collective memory shaped by both hand and gaze.
She works with natural or recycled materials, chosen for their symbolic power, particularly gold, which she uses to reveal light and embed her works in time. Her personal journey also informs her approach, questioning origins and the construction of identity. Through performances and immersive projects, she shares her creative process with the public. Her work offers a sensitive experience that encourages viewers to see life and our place in the world in a new light.
Megha Goenka
Born in India and living and working in Luxembourg, Megha Goenka draws inspiration from nature and organic forms—pods, plants, marine life, and microorganisms. Experimentation lies at the heart of her practice, which she explores through techniques such as slab construction, coiling, wheel-throwing, clay casting, and mold-making. She investigates glazes, oxides, and pigments to transform surfaces in both her sculptures and wall installations.
For this Wine Meets Art exhibition, she focuses on spring as a theme of rebirth, renewal, and the joy of new life, seeking to convey these concepts through her works.
Pascale Seil
Through her ongoing project Nature Singulière, Pascale Seil develops an ecological and poetic approach to recycled glass. She transforms glass bottles into unique works of art, guided by their natural shapes and intrinsic memory. Each bottle—whether wine, champagne, or beer—becomes a singular object, the result of an artistic metamorphosis. Jewelry, sculptures, and installations emerge from this dialogue with material, in a formal exploration inspired by the landscapes of the Müllerthal. Her ever-evolving work examines how the organic forms of recycled glass can interact with the environment, inviting viewers to see everyday objects differently and rediscover the beauty of glass in a new light.
A Special Experience: Artwork & Wine Pairing
For this edition, Wine Meets Art offers a true pairing of an artwork with a wine from the estate. For each artist, the Domaine Claude Bentz has selected an emblematic work and paired it with a wine—or crémant—chosen to enhance its texture, light, and character.
Visitors can explore the artwork while tasting the corresponding wine. Its aromas, texture, and depth extend the visual experience, offering a new way to feel art.
An exclusive event, specially designed for this edition, to be experienced only at the estate.
