ETTA SCOLLO trio & special guest EVA MATTES
NIRGENDLAND – A literary and musical evening in honour of Mascha Kaléko
Attention: Literary Concert in German Language !
.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the death of the great poet Mascha Kaléko, Etta Scollo and Eva Mattes are dedicating a poignant stage project to the life and work of this extraordinary woman.
An event subtly blending song, poetry and political memory under the title ‘Nirgendland - A literary and musical evening in honour of Mascha Kaléko’. This polyphonic evening, in musical dialogue with various musicians, will once again bring to life the depth and complexity of Kaléko's work.
‘Wherever I travel, I go to Nirgendland (no man's land)’ – this is what Mascha Kaléko says in her poem ‘Kein Kinderlied’ (no children song). Her journey is emblematic of many voices that have been silenced by expulsion and the loss of their homeland – and yet continue to have an impact.
An evening exploring loss, belonging and the power of language. A concert project that connects the past, present and future – poetic, political, deeply moving.
